Perfectionism Is Fear Dressed Up In Good Shoes...
"Perfectionism is fear dressed up in good shoes and a nice coat. You will never be free from criticism. Perfectionism is a huge waste of time."
--Elizabeth Gilbert
I LOVE this quote and it relates so well to health and fitness. Eating well and exercise should be about taking good care of yourself so that you can go out into the world and do what you love with energy and vitality. Looking for ways to improve is healthy. Can I get more sleep? Could I add more fruits and vegetables to my diet? Should I get up out of my chair more often at work? This is different from negative self talk about not being thin or fit enough, not being "perfect."
Interestingly, some people who achieve a low BMI (body mass index) with controlled eating and over exercise have higher body dissatisfaction than those with a average or even slightly higher BMI.
Focus on health and happines; it will do your body and your self-esteem good.
